You Can Call Me Yogurt Mouth

For some reason I was really tired Sunday and plopped down to sleep at 6pm before any dinner. I awoke around 9 and Mommy said "time to eat." So with my disheveled hair and groggy countenance, I tried to eat yogurt the best I could. Result? Probably about 60% efficiency reaching the stomach. The rest of it you can see below.

Photo-activity date: April 19. Yogurt Brand: Whole Soy & Co.

Fun with the Phamily; Relaxing with the Randolphs

Next, the second phase of our Seattle pilgrimage takes us to the  into the Kirkland home of Uncle Bernard and Aunty Guilian Pham. Certainly not as touristy as Seattle itself, the city of Kirkland, located on the east side of Lake Washington, has its own personality with scattered coffee shops throughout town. The Pham home remained noisy over the weekend but hey, what do you expect with three kids? In addition to the Phams, we also spent lots of time with Aunty Evonne and Uncle John Randolph. Daddy & Uncle John share a love of all things techno-gadgety. They couldn't miss the trip to Fry's Electronics!

Activity date: 11 April. These were photos of a Saturday afternoon walk around Juanita Bay Park; the high was only about 50°F (10°C) Top: We began our walk to Juanita Bay Park from the Pham home with my friends Elizabeth, 4, and Christopher, almost 3. 2nd: The park has a plenty of boardwalks from which to view wildlife. 3rd: Strolling with the Randolphs at the park. Bottom: Unofficial Cherry Blossom Festival: in front of one of many Kirkland waterfront homes with trees in full bloom.

Emi's Second Annual Pilgrimage to Seattle

This trip is becoming a ritual! Ever since my folks left the Northwest in 2004, they have visited their old stomping grounds at least once yearly. That tradition continued in 2009 with another trip last weekend, my second time to Seattle. While this was a business trip for Mommy (she took a SOCRA exam), Daddy and I did some exploring to see the sights. In addition we had a nice visit with Aunty Ann Chen and her mommy, Grandaunty Lucy.

Activity dates: 9 & 10 April. How do toddlers explore Seattle? Top: By visiting the Seattle Public Library, where puzzles, books, and educational computer games kept me entertained while Mommy took her test. The building is an architectural landmark (Google images of it and you'll see). 2nd and 3rd: By public transit. On Queen Anne Hill getting ready to board the bus with Grandaunty Lucy from Taiwan and as a passenger. Bottom: By riding on Daddy's shoulder, in front of the Space Needle.

Daytona Early Bird

If you're sweating because it's Tax Day and you're not ready yet, then just sit back, look at the picture below, and relax for a few seconds. OK, done? Now you can get back to doing your taxes. And good luck.

Daddy took this photo of a seagull from the beach by our hotel while the rest of the family was still sleeping. Taken Saturday 4 Apr 09, 7:37am (29°14'07N 81°00'40W) on Nikon D40, 18-55 lens, f/18 ISO 800, exp -1, 1/250 sec

At the Daytona Beach Residency Retreat

Going to the beach is fun, but it's the company that makes it downright exciting! This yearly retreat brings most of the faculty and resident children together at one time to run around and make more trouble for our parents. Not a fan of the sand this time around, I found it more enjoyable to stay by the pool and hang out with Giovanni.

Activity date: 4 April. Top: At the pool enjoying an entire apple all to myself. 2nd to bottom: After morning Sabbath services, we head to Drs.  Tui and Tarik's home, former family practice residents at Florida Hospital, now practicing in Daytona Beach for a wonderful meal. I don't see Giovanni often, seen with his Mommy Dr. Maria Gonzalez, but show him my affection. Next, initially afraid of Dr. Tui's cat Chloe, I finally get enough courage to feed and pet her. Here, kitty kitty!

Couldn't Do This Last Month!

Time really flies. Below are a couple of new activities I've learned to do this past month. I didn't need to be taught how, it just seemed so...so...natural!

Top: Although this time I was caught trying to sneak out to the garage, Mommy & Daddy need to face the fact that I can now open doors to the outside! Fortunately they keep their eyes on me and all open doors sound an alarm. Bottom: My many little teeth do their job in helping me eat a whole apple!
